April 13, 2004 - The Internal Revenue Service confirmed that the Children's Hemiplegia and Stroke Association is exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and that we are classified as a public charity under the Code section 170(b) (1) (A) (vi). Advance ruling period complete.

March 23, 2000 - Received a letter of determination from the Internal Revenue Service. The Employer ID number (also known as our tax id number) is 75-2831215.  The advance ruling period began on July 21, 1999. The IRS wrote the following in the determination letter, "we have determined you are exempt from federal income tax under section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in section 501 (c)(3)."

July 21, 1999 - Incorporated in Texas. This information is on file with the Office of the Secretary of State of Texas, Corporations Section. The Texas charter number is 01544078-01.

You can search the IRS website for verification of the CHASA nonprofit status. They have CHASA listed as Childrens Hemiplegia and Stroke Association (note that the apostrophe in Children's is missing).
