John Kylan Lynch, D.O., MPH

Dr. Lynch graduated magna cum laude from the University of Health Sciences College of Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. He completed an internship in internal medicine and a residency in Neurology at Northwestern University. Dr. Lynch completed a fellowship in cerebrovascular disease and also received a Master’s in Public Health at the Yale University School of Medicine. Currently, Dr. Lynch is a Senior Staff Fellow in the Neuroepidemiology Branch at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke in Bethesda, Maryland.

Dr. Lynch has received several awards, including an Outstanding Teacher Award from Northwestern University, a Certificate of Recognition and a Special Service Award from the National Institutes of Health, and Young Alumnus of the Year from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Among his extracurricular activities, Dr. Lynch reviews grants for the National Institutes of General Medical Science at NIH and the American Osteopathic Association and is a member of the AOA bioterrorism task force and the AOA Scientific Affairs Committee. Dr. Lynch is also a member of the speaker’s bureau at the National Institutes of Health, Office of Science Education.

Dr. Lynch has served as a neurologist investigator on a number of clinical trials and is currently the primary investigator on a number of studies of stroke in children at the National Institutes of Health.
